Job summary

Texas Health Hospital Rockwall is seeking a Coding Quality Education Analyst (Inpatient) to support auditing and education across inpatient coding. The role emphasizes remote work with occasional onsite training, and requires extensive coding credentials and experience.

The candidate will review records, validate DRG and codes, and assist leadership with process improvements while ensuring compliance with coding standards. A strong background in AHIMA/ACS certifications is preferred.

Education

Associate's Degree Health Information Services, Nursing, or related field REQUIRED or

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 2 Years Coding experience in lieu of degree REQUIRED

Experience

3 Years Coding in an acute care setting REQUIRED and

1 Year Performing coding and documentation audits preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• CCS - Certified Coding Specialist Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• CPMA - Certified Medical Auditor Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• APCIC - Certified Inpatient Coder Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• CCDS - Cert Clinical Doc Spec Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• CDIP - Cert Doc Integrity Spec Upon Hire REQUIRED Or
• RN - Registered Nurse If RN, then must have RHIT or RHIA or CCS or CDIP (AHIMA Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner) or CCDS (ACDIS Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist or CIC (AAPC Certified Inpatient Coder) Upon Hire REQUIRED

Skills

Proficient in software applications (Excel, Word, Optum CAC, EPIC). Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS and CPT-4. Expert in coding convention/automated encoder (knowledge management of NCCI/OCE billing edits). Knowledgeable in APC and DRG methodologies and all regulatory/payer requirements associated with coding. Demonstrated knowledge of an ability to apply THR coding policies and procedures to record review process. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated clear and concise oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated strong decision making and problem-solving skills. Personal initiative to keep abreast of new developments in coding updates/technology/research/regulatory data. Successful completion of ICD-10 AHIMA Academy training and certification (Preferred).
