Code Ninjas in Pittsford, Vermont is seeking a Code Sensei for part-time afternoon, evening, and Saturday shifts. The role starts with lower hours and grows over time, with attendance on Saturdays being mandatory at this stage.

You will work with kids aged 5-14, delivering engaging coding activities in a fun, safe learning environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, enjoys mentoring youth, and has experience working with children.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Ability to teach and engage young learners.
• Reliability and willingness to work a variable schedule including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Train through the curriculum and apply it to teaching practices.
• Participate in quarterly staff meetings and individual meetings.
• Assist with planning and delivery of programs beyond the curriculum.
• Create a positive, safe learning environment for students to grow.
• Oversee day-to-day coaching, activities and student engagement.
• Work with children to determine skill sets and progress.
• Provide feedback to parents after working with students and during progress reports.
• Follow opening/closing duties and maintain center cleanliness.
• Report progress to the center director and handle assigned projects.
• Other duties as determined by the center director.

Position: Code Sensei

Part Time Up to 20 hours/week | Weekday Afternoons, Evenings and Saturdays. Position would start with low hours and increase over time. We cannot consider applicants who do not have availability on Saturdays at this time.

We are looking for an outgoing and energetic Code Sensei at least 16 years of age to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children while delivering exceptional, personalized attention to families. Responsibilities Include

• Training – go through the curriculum, learn it and apply it to your teaching practices
• Undergo additional training in safety, company & center policies, customer service and more
• Participate in mandatory quarterly staff meetings and recurring individual meetings
• Assist with planning and delivery of programs, beyond those written in curriculum
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
• Oversee day-to-day coaching, activities and student engagement
• Work with children to determine skill sets
• Provide feedback to parents after working with student and through ongoing progress reports
• Follow opening/closing duties daily including cleaning, quality checks and more
• Clean center areas throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
• Report to center director on your own progress and projects, as well as the progress and projects of the students
• Other duties to be determined by the center director

Preferred Experiences And Characteristics

• Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
• Experience working with the general public
• Flexible hours, particularly evenings and weekends
• Works well with others; collaborates, can be flexible and adaptable to quickly changing conditions
• Able to complete curriculum training on your own time
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently
• Reliable transportation and commitment to working assigned shifts is mandatory
