Job summary

Code Ninjas is seeking a Coding Instructor to join our energetic team in Leawood, KS. You will coach kids aged 5–14, following our curriculum, keeping sessions fun and safe while building problem‑solving skills. You’ll mentor youth, monitor engagement, and adapt activities to each child’s level.

As a Sensei, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment, support advancement through the program, and help kids gain confidence in coding, math, logic, and teamwork. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring children aged 5+.
• Experience working with the public.
• Teaching or childcare experience expected.
• Team player with good communication.
• Knowledge of coding or ability to learn basics.

Responsibilities

• Train students by following the curriculum and maintaining a supportive learning environment.
• Create a positive and safe space where students can grow and stay engaged.
• Work with children to assess individual skill sets and tailor activities accordingly.
• Perform opening/closing duties and ensure dojo cleanliness and order.
• Report daily activities and productivity to the Center Manager.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Coding Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

Responsibilities include:

• Training – go through the curriculum and learn it
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
• Work with children to determine skill sets
• Follow opening/closing duties daily
• Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standard
• Report daily to Center Manager with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo

Qualifications:

• Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
• Experience working with the general public
• Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care
• Works well with others; collaborates and communicates
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently

Compensation: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
