Job Details and Requirements
  • Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)
  • Typical hours: Monday-Friday, Day Shift

  • Locations considered: MO, IL, TN, AR, VA
Education

High school graduate or equivalent required

Certification & Licensures
  • At least 1 base certification is required.
  • Accepted certifications include:
    • AAPC - CPC (Certified Professional Coder- Apprentice); CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder); COC (Certified Outpatient Coder); CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder); CPC-P (Certified Professional Coder - Payer); any of the 23+ specialty coding certifications offered by AAPC
    • AHIMA - CCA (Certified Coding Associate); CCS (Certified Coding Specialist); CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based)
  • Based on type of coding, the hiring manager may have a preference for a specific certifying organization or a specific coding certification to be discussed at time of interview.
Experience
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding and reimbursement required.
  • Medical coding experience in a physician practice, inpatient setting, or outpatient setting strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong organizational and excellent customer service skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Requires use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, copier, credit card machine and fax machine.
Compensation and Benefits
