JOB SUMMARY
The Coding/CDI Denials Analyst primarily reviews coding denials for inpatient hospital medical records, ensuring the accuracy of assigned codes and adherence to Official Coding Guidelines and conventions. The role involves verifying that clinical evidence and provider documentation support the assigned codes and DRG, composing and submitting appeal letters as needed, identifying coding trends and root causes of denials for educational purposes, and reporting these trends to improve processes.
