Job summary

The International Code Council seeks a Code Development professional to support the development, publication, and interpretation of codes and standards. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will manage complex technical projects from inception to completion, facilitate committees, author code opinions, and use ICC tools such as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in code development, technical writing, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of ICC codes and standards development processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
• Experience working with technical committees and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in ICC tools such as cdpACCESS and CCT.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Project Management & Self-Direction: Independently manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Code Development Expertise: Understand code development process and requirements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with authors, experts, and promulgators to integrate content.
• Committee Support: Serve as alternate staff liaison and track progress.
• Technical Writing & Review: Author formal code opinions.
• Software Proficiency: Use cdpACCESS and CCT for publications.
• Special Projects: Contribute to strategic initiatives.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
