Job summary

Bluebird Staffing seeks a Coder for ProFee Surgery to work remotely with Florida residency requirements. You will abstract data from medical records into Epic and 3M 360 to create detailed case summaries, coding diagnoses and procedures per ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines.

You will identify primary and secondary codes, follow APC-related payer procedures, and support SDS, Observation, ED, and ancillary records. Certification in CRC/CIC/RHIT/RHIA or CPC/COC/CPC-P/CCS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have ProFee surgery coding experience
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines
• Ability to abstract data from medical records accurately
• Experience with Epic and 3M 360 is a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Abstracts data from medical records into Epic and 3M 360 to provide a detailed case summary of medical, demographic, and statistical information
• Identifies and codes diagnoses and procedures for medical records according to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 guidelines, including department modifications
• Identifies primary diagnosis and procedure as well as pertinent secondary diagnoses and procedures
• Follows procedures mandated by government and other payers for completion of coded data including APC assignments.

* Experience in ProFee Surgery coding preferred

Facility Specific: Responsible for coding SDS, Observation, and as needed ED, Diagnostic, and Ancillary records.

Professional Fee Specific: Responsible for coding Surgical Records, Evaluation & Management Encounters, ED (with E&M) and as needed Diagnostic, HCC, Retrospective Coding, Documentation Quality Assurance, and Ancillary records.

REQUIRED

• CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) required -or- CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder) required -or- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) required -or- RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
• Minimum of one coding certification
  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
  • COC (Certified Outpatient Coding)
  • CPC-P (Certified Professional Coder-Payer)
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
• Other specialty certifications from AAPC or AHIMA will be considered.
