  • 2 Years Professional (Profee) Coding experience.
  • Completion of advanced training in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately abstract information from medical records and assign codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
  • Review documentation for accurate code assignment and maintain records of coding variance.
  • Identify missed charges through charge reconciliation.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of procedural and clinical diagnosis coding
Knowledge of third-party regulations/payor billing
Effective communication skills
Detail-oriented
Strong organizational skills
Proficient computer skills

Position Highlights:

  • Work location: Remote work
  • Work hours: Monday – Friday generally between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm

Here’s What You Need:

Education
  • H.S. Diploma Or Equivalent REQUIRED
  • Associates's Degree in a related field preferred
Experience
  • 2 Years Professional (Profee) Coding experience
  • Completion of advanced training in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology or similar REQUIRED
Licenses and Certifications
  • CPC - Certified Professional Coder OR
  • CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based REQUIRED upon hire
  • Other certifications such as CGSC, COSC, CCC are preferred
Required Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of procedural and clinical diagnosis coding for professional billing
  • Knowledge of third-party regulations/payor billing requirements
  • Effective communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn internal systems
What You Will Do
  • Accurately abstract information from medical records and assign codes using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
  • Review documentation to ensure accurate code assignment and maintain records of coding variance
  • Perform charge reconciliation and identify missed charges
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
