Job summary

You will collaborate with physicians and staff to document coding needs, train new staff, and ensure high-quality coding for compliant reimbursements. HS diploma and credentials (CCA/CPC/RHIT/RHIA/CCS-H) are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• Certifications listed (CCA, CPC, RHIT, RHIA or CCS-H) or equivalent.
• Experience in hospital coding preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with documentation needs and request clarifications.
• Code inpatient and outpatient encounters per established standards.
• Review encounters for accuracy and completeness; correct and finalize codes.
• Train new coding staff as requested.
• Ensure data quality and optimal reimbursement under federal and state systems.
