The role requires responding to code violations, conducting investigations, and preparing case materials for potential prosecution.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector code enforcement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
• Penal Code 832 Certification (Must obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Code Enforcement Officer Certification (desirable).
• Fluency in Spanish or Russian (preferred).
• Possession of an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Respond to reports of potential violations and conduct field investigations.
• Inform property or business owners of violations and required corrections.
• Provide clear explanations of relevant codes and maintain detailed case materials.
• Monitor special events and collaborate with law enforcement during nighttime investigations.
• Prepare materials for potential prosecution and support enforcement actions.
