Job summary

Public Agency Resources (PARS) in Monterey, CA is seeking a Part-Time Code Enforcement Officer to monitor vendor activities during evenings and weekends. The role supports safe, compliant streets and public spaces through education and enforcement when needed.

Qualified applicants will hold certification as a Code Enforcement Officer or have law enforcement experience, and/or PC 832 certification, with strong oral and written communication and bilingual Spanish.

• Bilingual Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with City staff to ensure vendors obtain required permits and comply with applicable municipal codes, operating requirements, and health and safety regulations.
• Emphasize education and voluntary compliance by explaining requirements, providing information and resources, and assisting vendors in correcting violations.
• Document violations, issue notices or citations as authorized by the City, maintain accurate case records, and coordinate with appropriate City departments and partner agencies.
