Job summary

The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking a hands-on Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer to enforce city ordinances related to animals, streets, parks, and nuisance abatement. You will interact with residents, issue citations, collect information, and support public safety efforts.

Requires a high school diploma and at least two years in animal control or code enforcement; a Utah driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in Animal Control/Code Enforcement.
  • Valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Utah POST Academy or LEO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to the general public.
  • Receives calls for service regarding animals, parking violations, and city codes.
  • Assists with walk-in public and information requests.
  • Performs fingerprints for the general public.
  • Assists patrol with traffic and incident response.
  • Enters case data into the police record system.
  • Prepares reports and testifies in court as needed.
  • Issues citations for city code violations.
  • Participates in neighborhood outreach and community programs.
  • Maintains vehicle and equipment; supports court preparation.
