NATURE OF WORK: The Code Enforcement Officer I.II is under general supervision and enforces municipal ordinances pertaining to public nuisance issues, including but not limited to weeds, trash, junk, outside storage, inoperable vehicles, hazardous trees, maintenance of fences, snow on sidewalks, and graffiti. Interacts with community members to resolve public nuisances and provides support for Neighborhood Services programs as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods. The employee is regularly required to exercise mental visual concentration, listen, talk, stand, reach, twist, and demonstrate manual dexterity. The employee is required to focus attention on tasks without losing concentration or becoming distracted by surrounding activities and interruptions. The employee is also required to kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 70 pounds on an occasional basis. The employee may need to climb ladders, work in Confined Spaces, use power equipment/tools that produce vibration and noise, and work in Work Zones with moderate to heavy traffic. The employee may need to work in all outside weather conditions near moving equipment in areas with elevated noise levels and where chemicals may be utilized. Work is performed in both office and field settings.
