Purpose

The Cocktail Server is responsible for welcoming guests, accurately taking all food and beverage orders, and making sure they are delivered in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

1. Provide guests with accurate and thorough information regarding menu items, pricing, and allergen information.
2. Recognize and cultivate regular guests and repeat business.
3. Take and enter orders into POS system promptly and accurately.
4. Ensure all food and drinks are served immediately and according to specifications.
5. Replenish stock as needed during the shift.
6. Move furniture as directed by management, including tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment.
7. Respond to guest concerns/complaints and resolve issues while maintaining a positive attitude, escalating to management when necessary.
8. Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all state and federal liquor laws.
9. Maintain company safety and sanitation standards.
10. Prepare guest checks through POS terminal functions and process payments by cash, credit card, venue comps, and other tender types.
11. Collect signatures and close guest checks promptly.
12. Ensure accurate accounting of all monies and adhere to banking procedures.
13. Sign all cash-out slips legibly.
14. Ensure proper check-out procedures are followed.
15. Clean spills immediately and dispose of trash properly.
16. Report any complaints, comments, or incidents to management.
17. Complete nightly/weekly and opening/closing duties as assigned.
18. Report equipment failures and safety hazards immediately.
19. Assist with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 21+ years of age.
• Possession of or ability to obtain all required state work cards.
• Minimum of two years related experience.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Familiarity with beer and spirits.
• Proper lifting techniques.
• Guest relations skills.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards.
• Ability to serve alcohol responsibly.
• Experience in full-service restaurant operations.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions

Work may be indoors or outdoors, exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, wet floors, noise, crowds, and smoke, depending on guest volume. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Use hands to handle objects and tools.
• Repeat movements for long periods.
• Understand and speak clearly in English.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
