Responsibilities

• Prepare dining area for service by arranging tables and place settings.
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and alcohol policies.
• Assist patrons with menu selections and beverage pairings.
• Record orders and communicate special dietary needs to kitchen/bar.
• Notify kitchen of timing and pace of meals.
• Deliver food and accompaniments to tables and assist guests as needed.
• Observe guest needs and respond to requests during service.
• Maintain table status by clearing courses and refilling water.
• Close the dining experience by presenting the bill and handling payment.
• Contribute to team goals and overall guest satisfaction.

Job description

Job Purpose

Serves patrons by providing information to help food and beverage selections; presenting ordered choices; maintaining dining ambiance.

Duties

• Prepare rooftopfor service by setting tablescondiments, napkins, service plates, and utensils
• Protectestablishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
• Helppatrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and aperitifs; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
• Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
• Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars
• Respondto additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
• Maintaintable setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
• Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return
• Obtainrevenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to guest; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
• Contributeto team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
