Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Sr Manager, Cobrand Risk Management to lead the cobrand credit card program's risk governance and strategy. You will partner with Citi and Mastercard, shaping program direction and driving analytics for senior executives.

You will develop multi‑year risk, performance, and growth strategies, guide forecasting models, and mentor a high‑performing team while establishing strong governance across the Cobrand program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in risk management with a credit card issuer.
• Deep understanding of credit card industry and competitors’ products.
• Ability to lead complex analyses and deliver executive insights.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive long‑term strategic vision for Cobrand Risk Management across card products.
• Lead multi‑year risk, performance, and growth strategies at VP/SVP levels.
• Assess risk impact, review partner strategies, and serve as thought leader on trends.
• Partner with Finance, Loyalty, Network Planning, Revenue, Legal to shape direction.
• Develop analyses and strategic recommendations for executive leadership.
• Build relationships with external partners to align risk appetite and goals.
• Oversee initiatives evaluating portfolio health, customer behavior, profitability, risks.
• Guide forecasting models, scenario analyses, and risk assessments.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing team with governance frameworks.
• Oversee enterprise initiatives and business cases shaping partnerships.
