Cobb-Vantress, Inc. in GA seeks a mill feed production associate responsible for unloading and processing bulk and bagged ingredients. Duties include operating scales, maintaining clean areas, and performing quality checks on incoming materials.

Location and Schedule

Company: Cobb

Location: Southeast Feed Mill, Cleveland, GA

Schedule: Monday‑Thursday AND Friday

Hours: Mon‑Thurs 6:00am-4:00pm AND Fri 5:00am-1:30pm

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for unloading and processing all bulk and bagged ingredients for mill feed production. Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days. Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilties

• Unload incoming ingredients in bags, bulk trucks. These job duties occasionally require simple math to be performed accurately. (45%)
• Keep assigned housekeeping areas clean, disinfected and pressure washed as needed. (15%)
• Operate truck scales, and ticketing system. (15%)
• Obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients including pit swabs, ingredient moisture content, bushel weight, observe ingredients with ultraviolet light. (15%)
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: Operate Tyson Mill Control System (TMCS) Designate route, and grind, Follow all Blow Down Permits. (10%)
• Biosecurity Requirements: The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing.
• Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 120 pounds with the aide of a buddy. Will occasionally be required to ascend/descend a caged ladder 197 feet high. Repetitive bending, reaching and squatting to retrieve samples. Repetitive climbing of a 15 foot ladder to collect samples. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.

Tools and Equipment

• Tools and Equipment:
• Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to corn and soy dust.

Personal Protective Equipment Required

• Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required.
• Ear plugs will be used as needed.
• NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.

Chemicals Commonly Used

Herbicides, Pesticides, and Disinfectants.

Safety

Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety procedures.

The employee is expected to adhere to all Company policies. Failure to perform this job to the above standards could lead to progressive discipline up to and including termination.
