Job summary

Cobb-Vantress, LLC is seeking a CDL driver helper to join the Cobb family. The role offers day-one benefits and a starting pay of $17.00 per hour with extra shift differentials for evenings, nights and weekends.

You will assist the egg truck driver with pickups, deliveries to farms, loading and unloading, and ensuring safety and biosecurity on every shift. Minimum requirements include a valid Class A CDL and 1 year of verifiable CDL experience; applicants must reside in the United States.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with at least 1 year of verifiable experience.
• Ability to operate a class 8 commercial vehicle safely.
• Willingness to adhere to biosecurity and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist egg truck driver with pickups from farms and deliveries to farms and customers.
• Help loading/unloading trucks and maintain inventory records.

Minimum Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, 1 year verifiable Class A CDL experience operating a class 8 commercial motor vehicle with clean safety record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist egg truck driver in picking up eggs at farms, delivering supplies to farms and customers and help loading and unloading egg/chick trucks (70%) Showers into uniforms at each collection site, cleans and disinfects equipment (10%) Attends driver safety meetings and completes required D.O.T. reports and Ryder inspection forms. Maintains farm materials and processing materials inventory records, taking samples to the lab, loading bad pallets and taking to the land fill. (20%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements

The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to corn and soy dust.

Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety Glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. Chemicals Commonly Used: Herbicides, Pesiticdes, and Disinfectants. Safety: Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks.
