Job summary

Cobb is hiring to support egg truck operations on farm routes, assisting drivers with loading and unloading, and maintaining safety and biosecurity routines at the hatchery and farms.

• Maintain farm and processing material inventory records and support waste disposal tasks.

Requirements

Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicants have been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the egg truck driver over farm route to pick up eggs and deliver racks, flats and dividers at poultry houses or other customer locations by performing the following duties. Also, assisting the chick truck driver with loading and unloading by‑product, helps load empty chick boxes to bring back to the hatchery. Upon returning to the CVI hatchery, the position is required to wash and disinfect truck.

Minimum Requirements

Valid Class A Commerc i al Driver's Lic en se, 1 y ear verifiable Class A CDL e xper i en c e operating a class 8 commercial motor vehicle with clean s a fe t y record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist egg truck driver in picking up eggs at farms, delivering supplies to farms and customers and help loading and unloading egg/chick trucks (70%)
• Showers into uniforms at each collection site, cleans and disin f ects equipm e nt (10%)
• Atten d s driver safety me etings and completes required D.O.T. reports and Ryder i n s p e c t i o n forms.
• Ma i ntains farm materials and processing materials inv e ntory records, taking samples to the lab, loading bad pallets and taking to the land fill. (20%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements

The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. Heavy exposure to corn and soy dust.

Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety Glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
