Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Coax Splicer to join our team of construction professionals. You will splice, sweep, troubleshoot, and upgrade coaxial networks across outdoor utility sites, delivering high-quality work with safety as a core value.

This role involves RF meters, TDR testing, and interpreting CATV designs, with a flexible shift schedule and opportunities for overtime. A valid driver's license and DOT medical card are required.

Responsibilities

As a Coax Splicer, you will be a part of a team of construction professionals who produce high-quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting, and more to make a difference. You will upgrade the existing plant, plant extensions, and new building construction.

In addition, you will:

• Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot existing aerial and underground coaxial cable
• Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity
• Utilize RF Meters and TDR (time-domain reflectometers)
• Read the CATV telecommunication design and prints
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

About You:

• Safety is a value you live by
• You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime
• You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card for driving purposes (Applicants are subject to an MVR review and must meet company standards for a safe driving record)

MOS Codes B05A, 3D157, 6423, B05A, 5699 relate well to this position.

Compensation of $70,000-$95,000 annually.
