Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Coax Splicer to join our construction team, focusing on splicing, activations, testing, and safe field practices. You will upgrade existing plant, undertake extensions, and support new building construction in outdoor utility sites.

You will splice, sweep, and troubleshoot aerial and underground coax, optimize node splits, read CATV prints, and use RF meters and TDR. Overtime and varied shifts are common in this role.

Qualifications

  • Safety is a value you live by.
  • You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping.
  • You are comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck.
  • You have a knack for solving hard problems with a hands-on approach.
  • A track record of completing work with high quality.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime on various shifts.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT Med card.

Responsibilities

As a Coax Splicer, you will be a part of a team of construction professionals who produce high-quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting, and more to make a difference. You will upgrade the existing plant, plant extensions, and new building construction. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In Addition, You Will
  • Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot existing aerial and underground coaxial cable
  • Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity
  • Utilize RF Meters and TDR (time-domain reflectometers)
  • Read the CATV telecommunication design and prints
  • Work in outdoor utility construction sites
Qualifications

  • You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card for driving purposes (Applicants are subject to a MVR review and must meet company standards for a safe driving record)

Compensation: $20.00 to $30.00 depending on experience.
