Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Coax Splicer to join field operations. You will splice, sweep, and troubleshoot coaxial cable on outdoor utility sites, alongside a team of construction professionals.

You will read CATV designs, upgrade plant, and participate in node splits to improve network capacity. Candidates should have 1–3 years of experience, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to work varied shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of splicing and sweeping experience.
• Comfortable with ladder or bucket truck.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT Med card.

Responsibilities

• Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot coaxial cable (aerial and underground).
• Optimize nodes and perform node splits to boost capacity.
• Read CATV design prints and blueprints.
• Work on outdoor utility construction sites.

Responsibilities

As a Coax Splicer, you will be a part of a team of construction professionals who produce high-quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting, and more to make a difference. You will upgrade the existing plant, plant extensions, and new building construction.

In addition, you will:

• Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot existing aerial and underground coaxial cable
• Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity
• Utilize RF Meters and TDR (time-domain reflectometers)
• Read the CATV telecommunication design and prints
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

About You:

• Safety is a value you live by
• You have at least 1-3 years of splicing and sweeping
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime
• You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card for driving purposes (Applicants are subject to an MVR review and must meet company standards for a safe driving record)

MOS Codes B05A, 3D157, 6423, B05A, 5699 relate well to this position.

Compensation of $24-$31 per hour.
