Job summary

Carboline, a St. Louis-based coatings manufacturer, is seeking a Testing Technician to support the R&D laboratory in developing, modifying, and evaluating coatings, linings, and fireproofing products.

You will perform routine testing, quality control evaluations, and maintain lab documentation under supervision. You will operate lab instruments, record results, assist with data collection, and apply coatings using spray, roller, and brush techniques while ensuring safety and compliance with SDS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year chemistry coursework or 1 year lab experience preferred.
• Must pass Jaeger Eye Test.

Responsibilities

• Operate lab instruments and perform testing per established procedures.
• Maintain organized lab notebooks and digital records.
• Grade test panels and record results.
• Assist with data collection and analysis for product performance.
• Use lab software for reporting, calculations, and inventory tracking.
• Prepare project reports with supervision.
• Reference Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all materials.
• Follow safety protocols, SOPs, and environmental regulations.
• Apply coatings using spray, roller, and brush techniques.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
