Job summary

Magna International is hiring for a paint line technician in South Carolina. Responsibilities include startup/shutdown, operating the paint line and wastewater treatment, and managing auxiliary systems such as RO water and boilers.

You will collect samples, analyze coating and wastewater parameters, monitor e-coat pressures, chart results, and maintain lab equipment in a clean environment. The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing with experience in hard coating, painting, or vacuum

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Technical / Mechanical Diploma / Degree or Certificate strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years Manufacturing Experience Required.
• 3-5 years in a technical role involving hard coating, painting, and/or vacuum metalizing or vacuum plasma processing.
• Robotics and controls experience would be an asset.
• Thorough understanding of coating processes and defect analysis.
• Technical knowledge of HVAC systems, clean room environments and fluid handling equipment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial processes and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper start-up, shut-down, and trouble-shooting procedures are being followed.
• Operates paint line to include startup, operation, and shut down.
• Operates wastewater treatment system to include startup, operation, and shut down.
• Operates auxiliary systems including, but not limited to, RO water systems and boilers.
• Collect samples, analyzes, and adjusts coating line process parameters using lab equipment.
• Collect samples, analyzes, and adjusts wastewater system parameters to ensure wastewater is within permit limits.
• Monitors e-coat process pressures and flows and changes filters as necessary.
• Charts process analysis results and enters into required spreadsheets.
• Participates in required tank maintenance.
• Maintains, calibrates, standardizes, and cleans lab equipment to maintain an operational neat and clean lab environment.
• Cleans and maintains e-coat and wastewater equipment area.
