Job summary

Carboline, a St. Louis-based coatings manufacturer, seeks a Testing Technician to support the Research & Development laboratory team in developing, modifying, and evaluating high-performance coatings, linings, and fireproofing products.

You will perform routine testing, conduct quality control evaluations, and maintain accurate documentation while gaining hands-on experience under experienced staff. This entry-level role offers learning opportunities, exposure to SDS/SOPs, and collaboration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; chemistry coursework preferred.
• Pass Jaeger Eye Test.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and wear PPE; OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate laboratory instruments and perform testing per procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation in lab notebooks and digital systems.
• Grade test panels and record results using standard methods.
• Assist with data collection and analysis to support product performance.
• Use lab software for reporting, calculations, and inventory tracking.
• Collaborate with supervisors to prepare project reports.
• Refer to SDS for all materials used and follow safety protocols.
• Apply coatings using spray, roller, and brush techniques.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Support hazardous waste handling and training requirements.
• Use Microsoft Office tools for daily tasks.
