Job summary

W. L. Gore & Associates in Flagstaff, AZ is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to support our Coatings Team on multiple shifts and manufacture medical devices.

The role requires handling hazardous chemicals, following safety protocols, and maintaining process data accuracy. Minimum 5 years of experience or a science-related Bachelor’s degree is required, with strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with software like Word/Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years work experience or a bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
• Experience within a defined Quality System and making good product quality decisions.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and machine operation experience.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook with ability to learn more advanced systems.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and stand most of the shift.
• Ability to learn and execute a manufacturing process and follow written instructions.
• Excellent eye-hand coordination and dexterity; pass a dexterity pre-screen.
• Ability to pass visual acuity tests (20/20).
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to constant change while meeting quality/productivity expectations.
• Work in a controlled environment with PPE and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and automatic chemical processing equipment per instructions.
• Follow hazardous chemical safety protocols and maintain safety-first mindset.
• Measure and prepare chemicals for batch or bulk processing.
• Maintain operational vigilance and flex tasks as processes dictate.
• Enter and monitor process data accurately.
• Work as a team member to foster a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with support functions to improve processes.
• Communicate effectively and follow escalation practices.
