Job summary

Job Juncture seeks a Chemical Engineer to launch and develop a new surface-coating operation for plastics manufacturing. You will help establish coating formulations, select processes and equipment, and drive the department from development through commercial production.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in coatings or related chemical processes, experience controlling viscosity, density, and evaporation, and strong leadership in a technical manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; Masters beneficial; PhD not required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a floor level manufacturing environment.
• Strong project management experience in a technical environment.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve problems and analyze process data; ability to troubleshoot using data-driven methods.

Responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to procedures and 5S principles.
• Maintain compliance with chemical, environmental, and safety requirements; complete inspections and documentation.
• Provide day-to-day technical and operational leadership for the Business Unit.
• Establish and improve training programs for SOPs, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
• Lead capital and operational projects; define scope, vendor selection, installation plans, and execution.
• Manage multiple projects with documentation, schedules, and reporting.
• Partner with operations to establish quality standards and lead investigations into issues.
• Communicate schedules, scope changes, resources, and material availability to stakeholders.
• Maintain project records and provide timely internal and external reporting.
• Coordinate purchasing of equipment, services, and resources for projects.
• Support TPM initiatives and maintenance techniques; train production employees.
• Work off-shifts as needed to observe operations and train staff.
• Provide direction and assign work to technical personnel.
