TAT Piedmont (Piedmont Aviation Component Services) is seeking a qualified Coatings & Plating Technician. This technician will set up, operate, and monitor plating processes and machines to coat metal products with chromium, cadmium, or other metals to protect surfaces used in the aviation industry.

Schedules available:

2nd shift - Monday to Friday (8 hours), 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Essential Job Functions:

1. Load and unload electroplating equipment by fastening metal workpieces to hooks, racks, cathode bars, or loading baskets or barrels.
2. Immerse workpieces in cleaning, plating, pickling, and rinsing tanks, following timed cycles manually or using hoists.
3. Set tank temperatures to prescribed levels.
4. Examine workpieces for plating defects such as rough spots or thin plating after removal.
5. Dry plated workpieces using oven operations.
6. Use blasting equipment (aluminum oxide, glass beads) to clean parts.
7. Mentor and train other personnel.
8. Report safety, quality, or ethical concerns to supervisors immediately for evaluation and resolution.
9. Operate, maintain, and service specialized equipment.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED minimum.
• Technical courses in mechanics or machining are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• High efficiency, decision-making, and energetic performance.
• Accurate completion of work orders, BOMs, and data entry within ERP systems.
• Ability to read and understand FAA, EASA, ISO, and repair station documentation.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
• Compatible personality to foster a productive work environment.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quantum preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Make decisions and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Effective communication skills (oral and written) with personnel and management.
