Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Crawfordsville, IN seeks a Production Lead to join our team. You will be part of a leadership group focused on safe, efficient production with attention to quality and on-time delivery.

You will guide teammates, monitor workflow, and communicate across departments to keep production moving smoothly. Ideal candidates bring at least 6 months in steel manufacturing, strong Microsoft Office skills, and a readiness to lead.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in steel manufacturing.
• Competent with Microsoft Office software programs.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Tower fabrication processes and procedures.
• Preferred: Previous leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead production line and ensure smooth workflow across departments.
• Monitor machine loading and maintain production pace and quality.
• Train teammates and communicate relevant information to other teams.
• Fill in for other line positions and assist Supervisor as needed.
• Uphold safety policies and housekeeping standards at all times.

Basic Job Functions:

The responsibilities of the Production Lead include but are not limited to: being a positive member of the leadership team at NTSIN, being an active participant with developing teammates within our culture, monitoring machine loading to ensure proper flow of product throughout the department, as well as overseeing and training teammates on the line. This position is also responsible for communicating information to other departments and teammates as it relates to production. The Production Lead is responsible for establishing and setting the production pace, maintaining efficiency, and ensuring quality on the line. Additional responsibilities will include filling in for other positions on the line, and for the Supervisor, as necessary.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
