Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is seeking a Coating Lead on the Night Shift to prepare materials and surfaces for paint, laminate, or other coatings. Location is Tulsa, OK. Safety sensitive role with potential overtime and weekend coverage on a multi-shift manufacturing site.

The Coatings Lead will operate spray equipment, mix paints, adjust nozzles, and perform maintenance while ensuring quality finishes and adherence to safety rules. English proficiency required; LEAN process familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year paint experience or ability to learn paint process quickly.
• LEAN standardized processes knowledge or ability to learn.
• Basic knowledge of mill gauge and pressure monitors or ability to learn.
• Working Conditions: Hourly full-time position.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operates conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other surfaces.
• Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies or water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula.
• Adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain proper dispersion and monitors flow and viscosity.
• Cleans paint lines, paint guns and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance.
• Regulates temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
• Be able to operate cranes.
• Use mobile equipment (forklift, telehandler, etc.).
• Operate a grinder.
• Troubleshoot machinery.
• Follows all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Ability to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat coworkers with dignity and respect.

Arcosa Wind Towers is searching for a Coating Lead to join our team on the Night Shift. As a Coatings Lead/Painter, you will prepare materials, surfaces, and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber, or other material.

Location: Tulsa, OK

What you’ll do:

• Operates conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies or water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula
• Adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint or solution

Preferred skills:

• Prefer candidate with 1 year paint experience or ability to learn paint process quickly
• Prefer candidate with LEAN standardized processes for paint or the ability to learn the LEAN standardized processes
• Prefer basic knowledge of mill gauge and pressure monitors or the ability to learn
• Working Conditions: Hourly full-time position
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently

Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds which operate multiple shifts and frequent weekend shifts

• This position frequently requires work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
• Hourly position, 4:30pm - 3:00 am Monday - Friday (subject to change based on business needs), mandatory OT often required
