Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings and linings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and sign off at each hold point.

You will supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects, write inspection and nonconformance reports, and liaise with the owner and applicator. Travel to project sites is required as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting protective coatings and linings on industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards and coating systems.
• Ability to stop work that is out of specification and document the reason.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specification/manufacturer data.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off authority at holds.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent program to owner and applicator.
