Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections under a CIP Level 2/3 inspector, verifying surface prep per SSPC/NACE, ambient-condition readings, film thickness, and documentation on tanks, structures, pipe and concrete.

You will maintain logs, check materials against data sheets, and travel to site as required; growth to Level 2 after experience and courses; safety and quality standards apply.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification current is required.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfort working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays and defects.
• Verify coating materials against data sheets; log every step of inspection.
• Photograph and document each stage of coating work.
