Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections of protective coating work under the supervision of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. You will verify surface prep per SSPC/NACE, measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and document each coating stage on tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete.

Required: AMPP CIP Level 1 (current) certification and at least 1 year in industrial coatings application or inspection.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification current
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations
• Meticulous with instruments and records
• Honest about what the gauge reads

Responsibilities

• Perform basic inspection of protective coating work under direction of CIP Level 2/3 inspector
• Verify surface preparation against SSPC/NACE standards
• Measure ambient conditions and surface profile
• Document coating application and inspections on tanks, structures, pipe and concrete
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work
