Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating and lining inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points from the coating spec, verify surface prep, monitor cure, and perform adhesion and holiday testing with sign-off authority.

You will also supervise Level 1 inspectors, write inspection and nonconformance reports, and coordinate with owners and applicators.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification is required.
• Command of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards is expected.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects is preferred.
• Ability to stop an application that is out of specification and document it for closure.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specification and manufacturer data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors and review their logs; write inspection and nonconformance reports.
• Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
