Job summary

Stanley Electric U.S. is seeking an experienced Coatings Engineer to coordinate new model development and implement process improvement projects to increase profitability of production.

Based in London, Ohio, the role collaborates with design, manufacturing and quality teams to drive cost reductions, tooling, and automation while meeting customer specs.

Applicants should have 2 years engineering experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor and CATIA, plus familiarity with PLCs and robotics.

Qualifications

  • 2 years engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor and CATIA.
  • Knowledge of robotics and PLC programming preferred.
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating new model development by determining specifications needed for production in order to meet customer requirements for new models.
  • To implement process improvement projects to increase profitability of production.
  • Involved in process improvement efforts by troubleshooting and developing countermeasures to improve production.
  • Participate in new model development regarding drawing review, start-up, design of tooling, process development, robot programming and process confirmation in order to create a competitive advantage.
  • Participate in capital investment planning regarding testing, new equipment purchase, and installation.
  • Assist in cost-reduction by monitoring raw material usage and reject reduction rate in order to help the company be more cost-effective.
  • Provide technical support to production, process, and maintenance groups to reduce downtime and increase productivity.
  • Support manufacturing by addressing problem solving issues and theorizing improvement ideas to achieve maximum production efficiency.
  • Address other issues and/or assume other responsibilities as opportunities arise.
  • Generate and control project schedules, monitor budget and report status.

Job description

Stanley Electric U.S. is seeking an experienced Coatings Engineer to coordinate new model development and implement process improvement projects to increase profitability of production.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

  • 2 years engineering experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, and CATIA
  • Knowledge of robotics, electrical, and mechanical preferred
  • Familiarity with PLC programming
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Automotive background preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of vacuum metalizing and robotic spray painting preferred
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Demonstrated ability to control multiple projects, budgets and deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Manufacturing Environment (6) hour per day
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or receive training.
  • Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer deadlines and requirements.

HAZARDS:

Chemicals, moving equipment, heat, electrical. Moderate noise levels within specific areas required to wear hearing protection.
