Job summary

Permobil is seeking a Coating Technician Trainee to join our manufacturing team in Lebanon, TN. You will learn and operate the powder coating and hydrographic processes, load parts, and ensure quality coatings through controlled temperatures and process steps.

Candidates should be eager to learn coating controls, use a scan gun, and handle racks up to 50 lb. This full-time role offers a first shift with opportunities to grow within a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Willing to learn the powder-coating process and equipment.
• Willing to learn coating system controls and delivery systems.
• Willing to follow correct process to maintain quality control.
• Must have competent computer skills and scan gun to manage inventory.
• Handling of large racks and lifting to 50 lb. required.
• Team oriented and able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate Powder Coating and Hydrographic Departments.
• Apply protective coatings to product components using equipment.
• Load and unload racks with metal parts.
• Perform pretreatment steps including cleaning and media blasting.
• Place parts in and remove from oven to ensure proper coating temperatures.
• Troubleshoot coating quality problems and communicate fixes or improvements.
• Hydrographic film on accent parts: prep, paint, dip, clear coat.
• Assist in maintaining environmental and safety standards; respirator training.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and understand electrical components.

Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift

Schedule: Full-time (Must have the ability to work overtime hours)

Your Role in Our Mission

• Purpose of Position: Maintain andoperate Powder Coating and Hydrographic Departments.
• Utilize equipment to apply protective coatings to product components.
• Load and unload racks with metal parts.
• Perform phases of pretreatment including parts cleaning and media blasting, according to material being coated.
• Place parts in and remove from oven when applying powder coatings. Ensuring sufficient product surface temperatures have been reached for quality coating.
• Determine root cause of coating quality problems and implement remedy. Communicate issues, status or remedy and/or improvement opportunities regarding coatings.
• Hydrographic film applied on accent parts. Prep, paint, dip and clear coat.
• Assist in maintaining environmental and safety standards. Responsible for respirator training.
• Perform preventative maintenance to equipment requiring a detailed working understanding of all electrical components.
• Keep daily EPA and FDA logs undated.
• Troubleshoot coating equipment malfunctions.
• Collaborate with production persons (with ability to reconfigure parts, processes, and/or materials in varying situations). Provide related information and technical support to others.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this role is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour . Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
