Job summary

LightPath Technologies Inc seeks a full-time second-shift Vacuum Coating Operator in Orlando, FL to operate coating chamber, clean and inspect optics, and maintain equipment per schedule.

You will perform coating runs, record maintenance logs, use a spectrophotometer to check coating performance, and support engineering while adhering to 5S and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6–12 months related experience.
  • Authorized to work in the US and eligible for export controls (ITAR).
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain vacuum coating chamber.
  • Clean optics, load/unload, inspect, and package optics promptly.
  • Keep records of coating runs and maintenance logs.
  • Use spectrophotometer to verify coating performance and report results.
  • Assist engineering in all aspects.
  • Perform final lens inspection for quality assurance.
  • Follow the 5S program guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Manufacture thin film coating by operating coating chamber per the work order and schedule. Clean and inspect parts and QA and capable of checking the coating performance by using a spectrophotometer. Maintain/clean coating chamber per schedule

Production Manager


Status

Full-time; Non-Exempt


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for operating and maintaining vacuum coating chamber.

  • Cleaning optics and loading/unloading and inspecting and packaging optics in a timely manner.

  • Keep records of coating runs and maintenance logs.

  • Utilize spectrophotometer to check coating performance and make reports.

  • Assist engineering in all aspects.

  • Final lens inspection for quality assurance

  • Follow the 5S program guidelines

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Special Authority


  • Stop any nonconforming process(es) which may affect safety, poor quality or customer satisfaction

  • Report any halted nonconforming process(es) to production manager, quality department, and/or process engineer.

  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Occasional exposure to the following: work near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.

  • Able to work with moderate level of noise

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English


Qualifications

Minimum previous experience/qualification:



  • High school diploma or GED and six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Must be authorized to work and reside in the US and must be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government to confirm with but not limited to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR), but not limited to U.S. export (ITAR) guidelines.
