Job summary

LightPath Technologies in Orlando, FL seeks a full-time Production Technician to operate a vacuum coating chamber, clean and inspect optics, and maintain coating logs. You will follow work orders, load and unload parts, and use a spectrophotometer to verify coating performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6–12 months related experience or training.
  • Authorized to work and reside in the US; eligible for ITAR/export controls as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain vacuum coating chamber.
  • Clean optics, load/unload, inspect, and package optics.
  • Keep records of coating runs and maintenance logs.
  • Use spectrophotometer to check coating performance and report results.
  • Assist engineering in all aspects.
  • Perform final lens inspection for quality assurance.
  • Follow the 5S program guidelines.

Job Shift: Second Shift

Description

Manufacture thin film coating by operating coating chamber per the work order and schedule. Clean and inspect parts and QA and capable of checking the coating performance by using a spectrophotometer. Maintain/clean coating chamber per schedule

Reports to: Production Manager

Status: Full-time; Non-Exempt

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining vacuum coating chamber.
  • Cleaning optics and loading/unloading and inspecting and packaging optics in a timely manner.
  • Keep records of coating runs and maintenance logs.
  • Utilize spectrophotometer to check coating performance and make reports.
  • Assist engineering in all aspects.
  • Final lens inspection for quality assurance
  • Follow the 5S program guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Special Authority
  • Stop any nonconforming process(es) which may affect safety, poor quality or customer satisfaction
  • Report any halted nonconforming process(es) to production manager, quality department, and/or process engineer.

  • Ability to manage time wisely in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Must be independent worker, self-motivated.
  • Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the internet.

  • Occasional standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Occasional exposure to the following: work near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
  • Able to work with moderate level of noise
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English
Qualifications Minimum previous experience/qualification
  • High school diploma or GED and six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Must be authorized to work and reside in the US and must be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government to confirm with but not limited to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR), but not limited to U.S. export (ITAR) guidelines.
