Role Description The Coating Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Lake Charles, LA. This role is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying industrial coatings, and ensuring coatings meet specified standards for durability, safety, and appearance. Day-to-day tasks include surface cleaning and preparation (such as sandblasting or power washing), mixing and applying coatings according to manufacturer and project requirements, and inspecting work to verify proper thickness and coverage. The Coating Specialist will operate and maintain coating equipment, follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements, and accurately document work performed. Collaboration with supervisors, project managers, and quality control personnel is essential to coordinate schedules, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality workmanship on industrial facilities and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial coatings application, including surface preparation, mixing, and spraying or brushing techniques.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE usage, and safe work practices in industrial and construction environments.
• Ability to read and follow job specifications, work orders, and basic technical instructions related to coating requirements.
• Skill in using and maintaining coating tools and equipment, such as sprayers, sandblasters, and power washers.

• Physical ability to perform manual labor, work at heights or in confined spaces as required, and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable work habits, including punctuality, teamwork, and effective communication with supervisors and coworkers.
• Prior experience in industrial construction, fabrication, or coating work in sectors such as chemical, refinery, or power generation is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant certifications in industrial coatings or safety (e.g., OSHA) are a plus.
