Job summary

Pentagon Technologies is seeking a Coating Operator in Hayward, CA to resurface and texturize customer parts using a spray nozzle according to work order instructions.

We have openings on Day shift (Mon-Fri, 6am-2:30pm) and Swing shift (Mon-Fri, 2-10:30pm). The role starts as a temporary position through a staffing agency with potential to convert to full-time.

You will follow safety rules, read prints, and maintain clean, organized work areas while meeting quality and timeliness standards.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient at operating a blasting nozzle.
• Know proper blasting pressures as they relate to specifications for any particular part(s).
• Ability to handle delicate parts large or small without damaging.
• Knowledge of how to read and understand prints.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Understand warping of parts along with acceptable roughness measurements and how to take such measurements.
• Appreciation for timeliness, quality, and punctuality.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by selecting appropriate media and settings based on material type and desired finish.
• Blast parts with some deposition and surfacing parts to specific specifications.
• Understand and follow operating procedures as assigned to the team to assure consistent, reliable, and timely processing of parts within this team.

• Interact with other blasters regarding jobs that require more than one person to complete.

Job Summary

As a Coating Operator, you will work to resurface and texturize customer supplied parts using a spray nozzle as specified by work order instructions.

This role is initially offered as a temporary position through a staffing agency. Successful candidates who demonstrate strong performance and are a good fit for the team may convert to a full-time, direct employee after the contract period, subject to business needs.

Safety

Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.

Work Environment

Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must also be able to work in a controlled chemical and wastewater environment and perform in a laboratory environment. Persons sensitive to chemical environments with conditions such as asthma, allergies, or extreme sensitivity to chemicals may not be considered good candidates for this position.

Physical Demands

Must pass company required screening tests. Employee is regularly required to sit and stand, reach with hands and arms and perform light routine office work, which includes computer workstation usage. Should be able to pick up 40 lbs on an occasional or regular basis.

Relocation

Pentagon Technologies does not offer relocation assistance for this position. Candidates who do not reside near the posted location will be responsible for covering all relocation costs.
