Job summary

Georg Fischer seeks a production worker to safely load and unload the coating line with proper tooling and products. You will perform packaging, labeling, counting and sorting under supervision, following established guidelines and ISO procedures.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, maintaining a clean workspace, reading blueprints as needed, selecting tooling per direction, and staying beyond routine tasks with overtime as required.

Summary

Safely load and unload coating line with proper tooling and products. Perform manual tasks such as package, crate, label, count, and sort products. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures
• Ensure that all guards and safety equipment have been installed and properly checked
• Required to meet or exceed production standards
• Required to maintain quality standards on all products
• Safely load and unload coating line conveyor with the proper tooling and product as directed by team leader or supervisor
• Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the department
• Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
• Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
• Required to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures
• Required to understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation
• Read and interpret blueprints whenever required by operation
• Select the proper tooling and process set-up as directed by team leader or supervisor
• Perform other tasks as assigned
• Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• A thorough understanding of the hazard communication program
• Must have a total understanding of the shop packets released to the shop floor
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing environment

Education and Experience

High school diploma or its equivalent, desired

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner
• Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time
• Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required)
• Exposures to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required)
• Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Examples: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time
• Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required)
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts
• Exposure to extreme seasonal temperature conditions
