Job description

We seek an experienced Restaurant Manager as the Department Head to oversee Coastal Provisions Restaurant!

Summary:

The Restaurant Manager oversees assigned Food & Beverage outlets to ensure optimum performance, exceptional guest service, and maximum profitability of all functions. S/he will train and motivate staff to exceed goals. The Restaurant Manager must have strong communication and analytical skills.

The Restaurant Manager shall always strive to provide exceptional service to internal and external guests. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture and promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
  2. Leads and supervises the outlets' team
  3. Prepares forecasts and reports and assists in the development of the food & beverage budget
  4. Ensures physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant, including inspecting tabletops and side stations
  5. Takes initiative to develop and execute new promotions, events, etc.
  6. Conducts monthly staff meetings to include ongoing training and safety classes
  7. Works with culinary to create new food menus responsive to the local market
  8. Enforces high standards of hygiene and sanitation within the outlets
  9. Tracks payroll and revenue daily
  10. Ensures the security of monies, credit, and financial transactions
  11. Establishes par levels for supplies and equipment
  12. Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance, and conduct of the team
  13. Implements strategies to continually improve revenues
  14. Recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate of colleagues
  15. Takes a proactive approach to coaching and counseling
  16. Attends appropriate resort, division, and department meetings
  17. Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
  18. Maintains a strong knowledge of hospitality trends, mainly food & beverage
  19. Utilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs
  20. Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  21. Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  22. Communicates all pertinent information to the outlets' team
  23. Maintains a constant awareness of safety issues (e.g., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, reports suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to the on-duty supervisor.
  24. Maintains a professional appearance and follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards
  25. Remains alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times
Qualifications
Experience & Education:
  • High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent work experience required
  • Two- or four-year degree in the field of choice preferred
  • At least three years of supervisory food and beverage experience required
  • Prior Four or Five Diamond experience preferred
Job Requirements:
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have excellent leadership skills
  • Must be a positive example for staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests and colleagues
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height and push/pull up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally
