Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, is seeking a Coastal Management Field Representative to supervise CAMA permitting and enforcement for coastal development. The position is based in the Washington District Office with two-thirds outdoor work, and offers a hybrid telework option.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in environmental or related sciences and two years of relevant experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or closely related field.
• Two years of experience related to the area of assignment or an equivalent combination.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for CAMA Regulatory Permitting and Enforcement work for development projects.
• Conducting on-site reviews of permit applications.
• Providing information on projects that usually require coordination with other divisions and state agencies for permit approval.
