State of Mississippi is seeking an entry-level Law Enforcement Officer I stationed in the Biloxi area to enforce laws protecting marine life and coastal resources. Incumbents operate under supervision of a senior officer and may coordinate with other state and federal agencies.

Qualifications

• Must obtain State of Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certification within six months.
• Must be at least 21 years old at time of appointment.
• Valid Mississippi driver's license.
• Pass background check and random drug testing as applicable.
• Complete the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Officers' Training Academy within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Enforce laws, rules, and ordinances protecting marine life and coastal wetlands.
• Patrol tidal coastal marshes, wetlands, and coastal waters to enforce fisheries and boating laws.
• Prosecute violators in courts of law and coordinate with other agencies.
