Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Business, Fire Protection, Fire Technology, Emergency Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional firefighting, safety and risk management in a comparable or larger community, with at least 4 years in a command role.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a Texas Driver's License.
• Texas Intermediate Firefighter Certificate or equivalent, and EMT-Basic certification or higher.
• TCFP Certification as Head of a Suppression Fire Department within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs all department activities – fire suppression, prevention, EMS, and support services.
• Leads personnel, manages the budget, and coordinates with other departments and external agencies.
• Responds to major incidents, directs suppression activities, and represents the department in collective bargaining.
