Join a team that’s Changing What’s Possible – The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy & Sleep Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a pulmonary/critical care physician‐scientist with expertise in basic or translational research relating to pulmonary and critical care diseases, with an emphasis on Sarcoidosis. The Division is looking for a talented investigator for the Dave Savula Endowed Chair for Sarcoidosis Research who will actively contribute to their expanding research portfolio.

The Susan Pearlstine Sarcoidosis Center of Excellence at MUSC is recognized internationally as a World Association for Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Diseases (WASOG) and Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) designated Sarcoidosis Center of Excellence. Its mission is to achieve positive outcomes by providing patient-centered, compassionate, and evidence-based multidisciplinary care. Over the last decade, the center has grown into one of the largest clinics in the country specializing in severe sarcoidosis cases.

The Division is regularly ranked among the top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and prides itself on outstanding clinical care. It offers three fellowship programs and a NIH-funded T32 training grant for fellows pursuing careers in clinical, translational, or basic research.

We are seeking candidates with:

• MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent (applicants with PhD only may be considered in special circumstances)
• Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary/Critical Care
• Proven or potential ability to lead an independent research program with sustained extramural funding
• Interest in teaching and mentorship
