Job summary

Mayvin is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Instructor to support the USCG training program at Training Center Petaluma. The role delivers engaging instruction in basic EMS care, patient assessment, and safe transport of critical patients following national EMS standards and Coast Guard requirements.

This position is essential to ensuring Coast Guard personnel are prepared to provide effective pre-hospital care in operational and shore-based environments. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Current National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) Certification.
• Minimum 5years of field EMT/Paramedic experience.
• Minimum 3years as a primary classroom instructor.

Responsibilities

• Deliver EMT curriculum and Coast Guard standards in classroom and practical sessions.
• Assess student knowledge and adapt teaching methods.
• Facilitate hands-on exercises, demonstrations, and scenarios.
• Evaluate students via exams and participation.
• Maintain records, attendance, and training reports.
• Manage schedules and ensure curriculum compliance.
• Ensure training materials and equipment are available.
• Promote safety and adherence to protocols.
• Meet client quality standards and provide leadership.
• Improve instructional delivery and training effectiveness.
• Support program evaluations, audits, and quality initiatives.
