Position Title: Coalition & Organizing Manager

Reports to: Child Care for Oregon Coalition Co-Chairs

Location: Remote

Salary Range: $59,867 - $79,487

Classification: Full-Time; Regular; Exempt; At-Will.

About the Child Care for Oregon (CCFO) Coalition

Child Care for Oregon is a coalition of nonprofit organizations, labor unions, community advocates, parents, caregivers and providers working to build a comprehensive child care system in Oregon.

Our vision is to build a universal, publicly-funded child care system in Oregon that is equitable, affordable, culturally-relevant, inclusive, developmentally appropriate, safe and community-led.

In order to achieve this vision, we must reimagine a system that values child care and the diverse professionals who provide care. This new system must be developed by and for the Black and Indigenous people, people of color, and the largely women providers and parents who know the most about child care.

Family Forward Oregon

Family Forward Oregon works collectively to educate and advocate for systems that elevate the vital work of care and caregiving in its many forms within our community.

We envision Oregon as a place where the unpaid and underpaid labor of caregiving is seen and valued, and the intersectional needs of caregivers are brought to the forefront of our societal systems, through the fulfillment of their importance, agency, and power.

About this Role

The Coalition & Organizing Manager is responsible for leading statewide organizing efforts and managing coalition activities to advance the vision of a universal child care system in Oregon. The position will act centrally to facilitate effective engagement, communications, and decision-making between the Steering Committee, Subcommittees, and coalition members. This includes coordinating and facilitating the Steering Committee and full coalition meetings, and supporting Co-Chairs of the lobby and organizing subcommittees that make up the coalition.

The Coalition & Organizing Manager will facilitate high-level project management, support policy advocacy, and execute both short- and long-term strategies to build a strong, community-led movement for child care reform. This role will also focus on volunteer recruitment and engagement, leadership development, and coalition-building across diverse communities. The Coalition & Organizing Manager will be an employee of Family Forward Oregon and supervised by the coalition co-chairs.

If you are passionate about economic justice for mothers and caregivers and are? ?looking? ?for? ?an? ?opportunity? ?to? ?create major change in the ?lives? ?of? ?parents and child care providers,? ?we? ?are? ?eager to? ?meet? ?you.
