Job Description

Talen Energy is seeking an experienced Coal Equipment Operator for their Brunner Island power plant in York Haven, Pennsylvania. The role involves operating various equipment to support coal handling and plant operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Operate diesel locomotives, manually or remotely, for shifting and spotting railroad cars within the general plan area for unloading, loading, and maintenance.
2. Classify railroad cars.
3. Operate mobile cranes and yard equipment as assigned.
4. Maintain and repair equipment, report repair needs, and assist in major repairs.
5. Fuel, lubricate, and clean equipment.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Entry Requirements

1. Pass respirator fit and use test.
2. Meet all requirements and perform tasks related to operating bulldozers, rail car coupling, conveyor system adjustments, and other equipment as listed.
3. Obtain a Pennsylvania Class II operator's license if required.
4. Thorough knowledge of safety rules applicable to the work.
5. Successfully complete and maintain lockout/tagout training.
