Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist – Special Coagulation to perform advanced coagulation testing and support esoteric assays, with accountability for quality and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with clinical teams and reference laboratories to ensure accurate results, participate in procedure development, and help maintain accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
• Certification at the technologist level or national certifications preferred (ASCP/AMT or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and other body fluids in coagulation and hemostasis testing.
• Utilize manual techniques and automated instruments to deliver accurate results.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and participate in quality assurance activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and reference laboratories to ensure timely, reliable patient results.

Education

Bachelor's degree

ASCP/AMT certification preferred
